Pathfinder Education provides tailored careers advice and guidance to help pupils explore their future pathways with confidence and purpose. Through one-to-one sessions, work-related learning, and support with next steps such as college applications, vocational training, or apprenticeships, we empower students to set realistic goals and make informed choices. As part of this support, pupils have the opportunity to take part in meaningful work experience placements, helping them develop practical skills, build confidence, and gain insight into the world of work. Our focus is on raising aspirations and ensuring every young person leaves us with a clear sense of direction and opportunity.

Daily Schedule
Our structured daily schedule ensures a balance between focused learning, social connection, and personal growth. Each session begins with a warm welcome in small groups.
Morning Sessions:

Small Groups
Our small, supportive groups consist of up to 6 children and 2 members of staff. This allows us to provide personalised attention and foster meaningful connections, helping every pupil feel valued and supported.
English
Our English curriculum follows the National Curriculum and focuses on developing essential skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. We emphasise key concepts such as comprehension, creative expression, and effective communication. At Key Stage 4 we offer recognised accreditation and qualifications for functional skills.
Our unique small-class setting enables us to tailor lessons to each pupil’s needs, ensuring they gain the knowledge and confidence to succeed. With engaging activities and individualised support, students build a strong foundation in literacy while exploring their creative potential.
Maths
In maths, we aim to build a deep understanding of core mathematical principles while fostering problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Our maths curriculum follows the National Curriculum focusing on a broad range of mathematical concepts. Our small classes allow us to adapt lessons to the pace of each learner, helping them gain confidence and proficiency in their mathematical abilities. At Key Stage 4 we offer recognised accreditation and qualifications for functional skills.
Options Courses
At Pathfinder Education, we provide a comprehensive selection of carefully designed courses aimed at supporting pupils as they take the crucial next steps in their personal and academic progression. Our diverse curriculum includes practical employability skills to prepare pupils for the workforce, tailored preparation for adulthood to foster independence, essential financial management lessons to build money literacy, in-depth guidance on online safety to navigate the digital world responsibly, and holistic health and wellbeing programs to promote physical and mental resilience, alongside many other valuable subjects that equip learners for future success.
Outdoor Learning
Our curriculum integrates outdoor learning by utilising the area’s natural spaces to teach local and natural history. This approach fosters a stronger connection to the environment and enriches pupils’ understanding of the world around them.
Qualifications
We carefully design our qualifications and assessment methods to ensure that they are right for the learner and support progression post-qualification. We ensure that the they allow the learner to demonstrate their full ability without external pressures, but also insisting on the appropriate conditions relative to the qualification and level.
English and Mathematics Basic Skills
We offer a full suite of English and Maths Skills qualifications from Entry 1 to Level 2. They have been designed them to be very flexible to use. They incorporate bite-sized units which are perfect for developing the underpinning skills and knowledge required for learners to progress as well as building confidence and ability in these subjects.
The qualifications include:
On demand assessments
Unit certification, allowing pupils to gain individual units.
Paper-based controlled assessments which can be held in the classroom environment.
Flexible roll on roll off programmes.
English and Mathematics Functional Skills
We are excited to introduce our new English and Mathematics Functional Skills qualifications, which are available from Entry Level 1 to Level 2. Pupils can utilise Functional Skills qualifications to progress within their own educational journeys and to grasp opportunities within the world of work and further training.
These qualifications are aimed at a range of pupils including young people aged 14–19 and adult learners wishing to develop and demonstrate their skills in English and Mathematics.
Digital & IT Skills
These qualifications cover a range of digital skills to suit learners at different levels, from getting started with a basic understanding of how to use a computer to developing skills to fulfil specific IT-based roles.
Our Entry 3 to Level 1 qualifications are designed to help learners get started with a basic understanding of how to use a computer, use software and get online safely.
The Level 2 Certificate in Digital Skills for Business focuses on the learner’s ability to further develop the digital skills required to participate in employment within a business setting.
Essential Digital Skills Qualifications (EDSQ), available at Entry 3 and Level 1, are mapped to the National Occupational Standards for Essential Digital Skills. Our Essential Digital Skills qualifications are designed to introduce learners to the digital world, encouraging the use of digital devices throughout the course and giving them the opportunity to engage with online facilities and a range of software. These qualifications cover life and work skills in detail and enable progression to employment or further study.
Personal, Social and Employability Skills
Personal, Social and Employability qualifications help give pupils the skills they need to prepare and succeed both personally and professionally. They help to improve work prospects and cultivate positive attitudes to work. These qualifications are designed to meet the needs of employers as well as employees, and therefore help learners not only to secure employment, but to remain within it.
These qualifications offer a broad range of optional units, which allow learners to follow highly individualised learning programmes. These include Employability and Preparing for Work, Independent Living, Life Skills, Personal Development and Progression
Vocational Skills
We offer a range of vocational qualifications that can be used individually or as part of a wider programme of learning. These are in areas including creative industry skills, customer service, health and social care, property services and therapeutic skills.
