Admissions

Pathfinder Education Admission Process

At Pathfinder Education, we are committed to providing a supportive and well-structured transition for all young people referred to our provision. Our admission process is designed to ensure that every placement is appropriate, collaborative, and tailored to individual needs. The process takes place in three key stages to promote transparency, trust, and a shared commitment to supporting each young person’s journey.

Three Stage Process

  • Stage One - Initial Conversation

The process begins with an initial discussion between Pathfinder Education and the commissioning body. This conversation focuses on the pupil’s background, current circumstances, and the reasons for referral, helping us determine whether our provision is a suitable match.

  • Stage Two - Pupil and Family Meeting

Following the initial discussion, a meeting will be arranged involving the pupil, their family or carers, and the commissioner. This meeting may take place at home, at the pupil’s current school, or another agreed location. It also includes a visit to Pathfinder Education, giving the pupil and family an opportunity to meet staff, ask questions, and see the environment first-hand.

  • Stage Three - Transition and Induction

If all parties agree to proceed, a planned transition into Pathfinder Education will begin. During this phase, we work closely with the pupil, family, and stakeholders to assess individual needs and agree on clear outcomes. This collaborative approach ensures a smooth integration and sets the foundation for a successful placement.
